Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) training for children's social care staff 25/26

Target group

This training is aimed at Children’s Social Care staff at the London Borough of Sutton. 

Aims

The aims of this session are:
• To understand why they are made and why it matters if they are not obtained
• To understand what constitutes a deprivation of liberty
• To understand what documents need to be completed
• To understand what information the court requires/ needs to be included in the documents

Learning objectives

At the end of this course participants will have:

• An improved knowledge and understanding about when an application for a DoLS order is needed, and what information they need to gather and include in the statement and care plan.

Special instruction

Those attending this session are encouraged to complete the DoLS awareness course which is available as face to face or as e-learning.
