Target Group
This course is targeted to social care staff working with children and families in the London Borough of Sutton.
Aim
The aim of this session is:
- To have an overview of types of immigration status and the impact on a person’s entitlement to statutory services from housing, adult social care and children’s services
Learning Objectives
At the end of this course participants will have:
- An overview of different types of immigration status including the EU Settled Status scheme (“EUSS”)
- An improved understanding of the impact of immigration status on access to different types of local authority support
- An improved understanding of the relevance of the Human Rights Act to access to support
- An ability to identify avenues of legal challenge to support and/ or human rights decisions
