Continuing Healthcare Checklist Workshop 25/26

Target group:

This course is targeted to all staff in adult social care who work for the London Borough of Sutton.

Aim:

The aim of this session is:

• To promote a better understanding about statutory requirements around CHC and how such knowledge can increase success in achieving health funding and ownership of cases with primary health needs.

Learning objectives:

After having completed this session, participants will have:

• An improved understanding of the vital role that staff must perform in working together with other agencies to address health needs.
• Improved knowledge and understanding to identify factors why certain groups are more likely to be refused CHC.
• Improved understanding of the differences between health and social care needs and overlapping issues.
• Increased knowledge and understanding about key principles around CHC to apply strategies to target high-cost cases
• Improved confidence to challenge issues  with reference to National Framework, relevant Case Law, Mental capacity Act and limits of the Care Act.
