Mouth Care Training 24/25

Target group

This course is targeted to staff in Adult Social Care, Nursing, Residential and Day Care Services e.g Home Carers, who work with adults who have care and support needs and reside in the London Borough of Sutton. 

Aims

The aim of this training is:

• To understand the importance of good mouth care. It covers all aspects of mouth care and issues of mouth disease. Mouth care is essential and if not carried out it can have detrimental effects on your residents.

Learning objectives

By the end of the training participants will have:

• An inmproved understanding on why mouth care is important
• An improved knowledge on mouth assessment
• An increased awareness of conditions caused by poor mouth care
• An increased awareness of mouth assessment
• An improved understanding on how to carry out effective mouth care
