- This course will focus on strategies that have evidence-informed impact on pupil progress.
- The first session will review the best bets for ensuring rapid progress and will focus on metacognition and feedback using the best evidence available.
- The second session will focus on adaptive teaching and other cognitive science strategies that have a proven impact on pupil progress.
- It will show practical examples of what these could look like across the curriculum.
- Review current Ofsted guidance.
- Give an opportunity to reflect and plan next steps.
This training session is suitable for
- Headteachers and deputy headteachers leading on teaching and learning
- Teaching and learning leads
- Senior leaders.
The aim of this session is to
- develop knowledge and understanding of metacognition, feedback, adaptive teaching, and cognitive science strategies. What are they and what could they look like?
- further improve whole school teaching and learning strategies that impact on pupil progress.
After attending this course, you will
- have a greater understanding of metacognition, feedback, adaptive teaching and cognitive science strategies and how these can be used to support pupil progress.
