Target Group
This course is targeted to: Social Care staff, START Team, Sutton Inclusion Centre, Occupational Therapy Team, and commissioned providers within Nursing, Residential and Day Care Services, including Home Carers;
AIM
The aim of the course is to:
Develop a general awareness of the prevention and control of infection, guiding learners to the latest public health and practical sector advice and guidance.
Learning Objectives
By the end of training participants will have:
- a greater understanding of Covid 19 and Coronaviruses
- a greater understanding of breaking the chain of Infection
- improved the skill of effective Hand washing
- knowledge on use of Personal Protective Equipment
- a greater understanding of how to reduce the risk of Infection
- gained knowledge on dealing with spillages & Control of Waste Regulations
- a greater understanding of how to deal with Sharps Injuries & Disposal
- gained knowledge of Management & Workers Responsibilities
- improved their knowledge on Policies and Procedures
- a greater understanding of  Precautions, Legislation & Regulations
- a greater understanding of Risk Assessments
- the ability to Identify the types of products that should be used for hand washing and sanitisation
