NRPR and Immigration Status Training 24/25

Target Group

This course is targeted to social workers for children and families in the London Borough of Sutton. 

Aim

The aim of this session is: 

• To have an overview of types of immigration status and the impact on a person’s entitlement to statutory services from housing, adult social care and children’s services

Learning Objectives

At the end of this course participants will have: 

• An overview of different types of immigration status including the EU Settled Status scheme (“EUSS”)
• An improved understanding of the impact of immigration status on access to different types of local authority support
• An improved understanding of the relevance of the Human Rights Act to access to support
• An ability to identify avenues of legal challenge to support and/ or human rights decisions
