This course is an essential requirement to complete for permanent children's social care staff who work for the London Borough of Sutton.
Aims
The aim of this course is:
- To provide participants with the opportunity to learn the skills required to facilitate a restorative conference to restore relationships, repair harm and prevent future conflict.
Learning objectives
By attending this course, participants will have:
- A greater understanding of the skills required to practise restoratively.
- An increased knowledge about how to support individuals involved in a restorative process, including overcoming barriers to participation.
- An increased knowledge about the considerations and preparation required prior to facilitating a formal restorative process.
- An increased knowledge about the structure of a restorative conference.
- An improved understanding of the considerations required when working with sensitive and complex cases.
Special instructions
- Only those who have attended the 1 day Introduction to Restorative Practice course can sign up to attend this course.
- Both days must be completed to pass this course.
- Agency staff, students and partner organisations working with children and families should book to attend the 1 day Introduction to Restorative Practice course.
