Restorative Practice Conferencing Skills (2 days) 25/26

Target group

This course is an essential requirement to complete for permanent children's social care staff who work for the London Borough of Sutton.  

Aims

The aim of this course is:

• To provide participants with the opportunity to learn the skills required to facilitate a restorative conference to restore relationships, repair harm and prevent future conflict.

Learning objectives

By attending this course, participants will have:

• A greater understanding of the skills required to practise restoratively.
• An increased knowledge about how to support individuals involved in a restorative process, including overcoming barriers to participation.
• An increased knowledge about the considerations and preparation required prior to facilitating a formal restorative process.
• An increased knowledge about the structure of a restorative conference.
• An improved understanding of the considerations required when working with sensitive and complex cases.
  

Special instructions

• Only those who have attended the 1 day Introduction to Restorative Practice course can sign up to attend this course.
• Both days must be completed to pass this course.
• Agency staff, students and partner organisations working with children and families should book to attend the 1 day Introduction to Restorative Practice course.
