This session will look at how social workers and practitioners can promote good school attendance through care reviews and strategies that could help the child and family.

This training session is suitable for all children’s social care practitioners, including:

  • Social workers
  • Family support workers
  • Early Help practitioners
  • Youth support workers
  • Social care team managers

The aim of this session is:

  • To support social workers and social care practitioners in their role in promoting good school attendance
  • To provide strategies to support good attendance
  • To signpost support that can be accessed where attendance is an issue

After attending this session, you will:

  • Be able to reflect on your role in promoting attendance
  • Have a set of strategies that could aid your support to children and young people experiencing attendance difficulties
  • Know what support can be accessed
