Target Group:

This course is targeted to social care roles in children’s services and foster care roles in the London Borough of Sutton.

Aims:

The aims of this session are:

• To enable carers to build effective strategies for dealing with contact difficulties
• To address contact within an anti-discriminatory framework.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of the course, participants will have:

• An increased knowledge and understanding of the aims of contact for looked-after children;
• An increased understanding of how carers can develop skills in relation to contact;
• An improved understanding of how to provide a safe space to discuss experiences and in order to problem solve and support others.
• An ability to apply how to build effective strategies for dealing with contact difficulties. 
• An increased knowledge of how to address contact within an anti-discriminatory framework
