Target group

This course is targeted to registered nurses and healthcare assistants working in Care Homes within the London Borough of Sutton.

Aims

The aim of this session is:

  • To improve your understanding of frailty, why it develops, how we can prevent or delay its onset and how it can be managed.

Learning objectives

By the end of this course participants will have:

  • An increased understanding of how age related changes increase the risk of frailty and what can be done to reduce these risks
  • An increased understanding of how to recognise frailty
  • An improved awareness of who is at risk of frailty
  • An increased understanding of what we can achieve by assessment and interventions
  • An improved awareness of patient centred care and treatment
