Target Group

This course is targeted to all social care staff in adults and children services who work for the London Borough of Sutton.  

Aims

The aims of this session are: 

  • To develop assertiveness skills and lift self-confidence to enable delegates to work more effectively.
  • To feel better about saying ‘no’ without having to change who we are.

Learning objectives

By attending this course, participants will have: 

  • An improved knowledge on how to deal with their own feelings;
  • An increased knowledge of how to set boundaries for others;
  • An improved knowledge of presenting clear messages;
  • An improved knowledge of closing conversations;
  • An increased knowledge of how to handle difficult people and situations;
  • An ability to practise the art of saying no;
  • An improved knowledge of how to move awkward situations forward.
