Target Group

This session is for Paediatricians, Team Leaders and senior staff in Health Visiting, School Nursing, Specialist Nursing, Therapies and CAMHS teams.

 

AIM

This session will enable the health team to pinpoint areas for further in-depth training and support. The morning will consist of presentations from Amalia Banon (SEN Head of Service), the CCG, and members of the SEN Health Team, with opportunities for questions. There will also be opportunities for questions and discussion.

 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the end of this session participants will have:

  • An increased understanding the EHCNA process, our statutory obligations, the timeline and what may happen once the assessment is completed.
  • A greater understanding of how the health contribution fits into the overall assessment and what is required to ensure the child’s needs are described appropriately and relevant outcomes are identified.
  • An incresed understanding of the role of the health SEN team in supporting the CCG to fulfil its responsibilities as per the Children and Families Act.
  • The opportunity to network with colleagues to share ideas of what works well, and how we can work together to solve current challenges.
