Target Group / Level

Group Level 2 (regular contact with children, young people and/or parent/carer) or Level 3 (predominately working with children) or above (including strategic leads) as set out in the Competence Still Matters training framework published by the London Safeguarding Children Board. Inter-Collegiate Standards 2 and above for health professionals.

Course Overview

This course will take 3 serious case review nationally and these will be split into the following area: 
• Under 5’s 
• Over 5’s 
• Adolescents 
It will provide multi agency professionals with the opportunity to explore the learning which can be taken away from serious case reviews to further improve our own practice. 

Learning Outcomes

• The ability to share information effectively and safely 
• Understanding of multi-agency partnership and the bigger picture 
• Understanding accountability and responsibility 
• Escalation skills (raising concerns at a higher level) 
• To know how to access learning from the NSPCC SCR repository 
• Understand the full process and procedure in place when dealing with an SCR
