Course Overview
The content will be delivered through presentations and group exercises. The workflow for permanency planning will be central to this workshop. The use of parallel planning to achieve timely permanency for all looked after children (LAC) will be discussed and the permanency workflow presented. The role of the Independent Reviewing Officers and the LAC review will be included in this training to facilitate good understanding of this element of processes for LAC. In addition there will be information regarding options for permanency with a focus on adoption and family finding for LAC.
Learning Outcomes
• To gain an understanding of processes required to increase timeliness in court proceedings, parallel planning and permanent placement.
• To understand the role of the LAC review process within this.
• To be conversant with the workflow which relates to adoption and family finding.
