Practitioners engaged in direct work with children, young people and families, as well as supervisors and team managers of those engaged in direct work.

AIM

To explore personal, professional and organisational challenges and opportunities for more effective working with father’s.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

During the day, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Understand the context of working with men (father’s) in relation to equalities,

definitions and domestic violence & abuse

  • Reflect on men's experiences of services and worker’s experiences of men/father’s
  • Identify barriers and challenges for effective practice with men/father’s
  • Consider a gender focussed attachment story
  • Explore best practice and application in relation to risks and strengths.

Pre-course preparation required:
