Course Overview
Bruising is the commonest presenting feature of physical abuse in children. However, they are very rare amongst babies and children who are not independently mobile.
Bruises in non-mobile child require seeking immediate medical attention.
Current local and national guidelines indicate that any bruising, or a mark that might be bruising, in a child of any age who is not independently mobile, that is brought to the attention of professional will require thorough investigations and management to protect his/her health and general wellbeing.
Dr Arzomand, Community Paediatrician from Queen Mary’s Hospital for Children and Designated Doctor and Medical Adviser for Adoption and Fostering to London Borough of Sutton will be giving a lecture re the above to Foster Carers in Sutton.
