Target Group / Level

This course and is designed specifically for Social Care professionals who will attend court as part of their duties to safeguard children, including giving evidence at contested hearings.

The session is ideal for staff who have never attended court, need to improve confidence or have not been for a significant period of time and want to brush up their skills. This is not a lecture but an interactive training course.

Aim

You will be working with the case study used in Preparing for Court that is taking the case study through the court process. You will have the opportunity to work in small groups and experience sitting in the “witness box”, with the barristers conducting examination-in-chief and cross-examination questioning.
During the day, you will receive feedback on your performance and tips and hints at how best to give robust evidence. This course will also cover:
