The training is targeted to those who come into contact with parents and families who are affected by parental mental illness during pregnancy and after giving birth. It is also aimed at those who need to familiarise themselves with PIMH in a care and support, specialist, strategic or commissioning role.

Please note: Those in direct contact with children and families will need to book onto the full day course for practitioners (level 2 and above).

  • The referral and care pathways for the mother and child and best practice approaches in the management of PIMH
  • The impact of PIMH for the individual, parent-child attachment and how it can affect the child across the life course
