Course Overview

This half day session is open to all social care staff who want to understand the differences and eligibility criteria for various types of advocacy services, including; Care Act, IMCA, NHS Complaints, Professional Advocacy, Children’s Advocacy for Looked After Children and Children subject to Child Protection Proceedings. An informative and interactive session about advocacy principles, routes to referral and statutory duties.

Learning Outcomes

· To understand the different types of advocacy services, including eligibility criteria and how to refer for each. 
· To understand the statutory duty to provide certain types of advocacy in line with legislation.
