TARGET GROUP

Children’s Social Care managers, ATMs, social workers, family support worker and anyone else who would chair or contribute to a strategy meeting.

AIM

This session aims to provide participants with the knowledge required to effectively chair and contribute to strategy meetings including those with complex safeguarding issues. It covers statutory requirements set out in pan-London child protection procedures, the LSCB management of self-harm protocol and local practice directives. The session covers: 

• good planning and preparation in advance of a statutory meeting including use of genograms and chronologies;
• risk indicators in the LSCB threshold guidance, specific and complex safeguarding areas;
• how to complete effective SMART plans as part of s47 enquiries and the outcome of the strategy meeting
• best practice in respect of chairing and contributing to strategy meetings
